Enchanted Pineapple
I got this glass at an antique store in Tennessee. I just couldn’t stop looking at it- its purple color was beautiful. I wish the pictures actually captured how stunning this purple is. Because of this glass’s shape I knew I needed to use pineapple. But I also wanted to highlight the color so I decided to again use Hops and Hardware’s Enchanted Vodka. It’s a blue vodka that turns purple with citric acid. I also wanted to lean in a bit with the tiki elements so I pulled out some citrus and orgeat and started some testing to work on the perfect color and flavor. Unfortunately, I did have a bit of a hard time keeping the perfect purple with the addition of the pineapple juice. It was just too yellowy and cloudy and took away all but a hint of purple. But the taste was so good I didn’t want to change up too much of the recipe just for color’s sake. My suggestion though when adding the ingredients to the shaker to add the pineapple juice last so you get to see the blue to purple shift happen with this whimsical vodka. So make sure you visit Hops and Hardware in Bristol Pa to pick up some Enchanted Vodka and enjoy this tropical treat on a dreary winter day!
