Wait It Out

Found this one at a thrift store.  She sat for a bit because I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with her.   I once again played the game of holding the glass to my vast bar and seeing what felt like a match.  The apricot liquor I had previously purchased for a Lita Grey drink called out and I started to work from there.  I knew since she was a tall glass, I needed to have a non boozey item take on some of the weight and I figured why not try some ginger beer.  It’s tasty, biting flavor worked well with the apricot.  But I felt like I needed just a couple more guests to make this lineup perfect.  I mixed in some whiskey and added a few orange bitters and we had a classy but not too boozy cocktail going.  Then this drink sat for a little longer because I had a hard time coming up with a name.  Usually the names come quickly so this felt like a stumper.  But when I retried the drink recently I realized it actually feels like a nice fall flavor and would make a great treat after a relaxing stroll under the changing leaves. So maybe I just needed to Wait It Out and release this drink at the proper time.  Or just maybe I gave up and went with a cop out name.  Either way, this is a lovely drink and certainly think it was worth the wait.
