Virginia Lady

I found this glass in a thrift store in Virginia Beach.  The moment I saw it, I tasted sherry.  Not sure what that says about me or the glass but I figured it was a start.  I needed to use sherry somehow in the drink, but also wanted something that seemed both classy and classic since this looks like it would be the glass of choice for a glamorous fancy lady.  So I started working with the idea of a Manhattan but replacing the vermouth with sherry since they’re both wine based.  I also experimented with bitters so I could add some unexpected notes that blend in nicely.  And the bottom of the glass looked like the perfect spot for a fancy cherry to nestle in. Get fancy with a Virginia Lady!
