Snowed In

I got this little guy recently at a thrift store.  He was giving me glacier vibes and since it’s winter I figured why not lean into the iciness.  When I was trying to decide what spirit to use as my base for a snowy drink I pulled out our Skiklubben Aquavit.  Aquavit is a scandinavian spirit that really warms the soul and gives off that snowed in vibe.  We got this a few years ago and mainly just drink it during snow storms.  So since we haven’t been getting too much snow the past few years, it hasn’t been getting too much attention.  But it seemed like the perfect start to a drink in this glass. I ended up adding a little vodka and Grand Marnier to highlight the Aquavit without quite overpowering it.  And then the ginger bitters seemed to allow all the flavors to mix well together.  The result is a drink that kinda tastes the way snow smells, warms the soul and will keep you cozy on the coldest of winter nights.  So next time you see a few flakes falling, shake yourself up one of these and enjoy being snowed in!
