Ms.

I found this glass at 2nd Ave thrift store. When I picked it up I saw it was marked $6.50, which is pricey for that particular store.  I immediately put it back scoffing “what do they think they have?”  I tried to continue my hunt, but I couldn’t stop thinking about this glass.  It was so perfectly 1980s does 1920s art deco.  And how could I pass up a glass with Ms. on it.  When I was a young girl I was always fascinated with that title.  It felt so strong and feminist to tell everyone you met “it’s none of your damned business if I’m married. That does not determine my worth.”  And frankly the gal on the glass looks both classy and badassy.  So, to answer my first question, they had a phenomenal glass that I absolutely had to have no matter the cost. With this 80s does 20s glass I decided to take drinks from each decade and mash them together.  The Cosmopolitan feels like a drink a strong independent 80s woman would sip and Bee’s Knees feels like the drink of choice for a rebelling flapper.  So I used 20s gin and honey and mixed it with 80s cranberry juice and triple sec. The result is a complex flavor that’s both sweet and a bit tart and it looks absolutely gorgeous in this glass.  So raise a glass for all those strong classy and badassy ladies throughout the decades.
